Eric Davies (Associate Director)
Eric holds a B.A. (Hons) in Business Studies, a Master of Philosophy (title of the research thesis, 'Relationship between Marketing Strategy and Company Performance in the UK Construction Industry') and the Diploma of the U.K. Chartered Institute of Marketing. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Member of the Institute of Management Consultancy.
Following his first degree, he joined the British Steel Corp. working as Sales Manager in their building products division working with lintels, contract galvanising, motorway safety fencing and security fencing products. He moved to the construction industry where he held the post of Group Marketing Director with a specialist UK sub-contractor group. In 1983, he set up SRD Consultants to provide marketing research and marketing/corporate planning services to the engineering & construction sectors. In 2000 he joined the Ontrac Group as Director of Research & Strategy.
Clients have included 3M, BT, British Steel Industry, Capita Group, Cargill Financial Markets, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Chartered Management Institute, Haden Young Ltd., Harding Evans (Solicitors), Hugh James (Solicitors), RAC, Rotork Engineering, Saunders Valve, National Trust, Telecommunications Industry Association, Thames Case, The Rosenberg Group, Unisys, Vector International, Welsh Development Agency, Welsh Assembly Government, Wessex Water and many more.
Eric has contributed articles to a number of journals including the European Journal of Marketing, The Pakistan Management Review, Management Consultancy, Accountancy, The Municipal Journal and others. He is also lead author of Marketing in a Week, published by Hodder and Stoughton, which is in its 3rd. UK edition and has been translated into nine other languages.
